Starting with a pre shipment photo: a 1500kVA transformer is heading to Kenya
I took a photo in the production workshop this morning – a 1500kVA oil-immersed transformer has completed all manufacturing processes and is now waiting for final packing.
About this transformer
The customer ordered a 1500kVA, 11/0.4kV oil-immersed distribution transformer. At this capacity, it's not a small unit – the total weight of the active part is close to 4 tonnes. It features all-copper windings, and the insulation system has been adapted for tropical climates. The voltage regulation range is ±2×2.5% (five taps), which is sufficient to cover most grid fluctuations.
Testing phase
On the day of factory testing, the customer did not send a representative on-site, but asked us to record the entire process on video.
We went through all the tests – turns ratio, losses, no-load current, impedance voltage, power-frequency withstand voltage, induced overvoltage withstand test, and more. All data fell within the design and standard requirements. The test reports, together with the video, were sent to the customer, and we received their confirmation reply the very next day.
