250kVA Oil‑Immersed Transformer Delivered to African Customer
We are pleased to announce the successful completion and delivery of a 250kVA oil‑immersed distribution transformer for a valued customer in Africa.
This transformer is designed with a primary voltage of 15kV and a secondary voltage of 400V, with a rated capacity of 250kVA. As the customer did not specify detailed performance requirements, we proposed a design based on the S11 series loss levels – a widely recognised standard for three‑phase oil‑immersed transformers in China. The proposal was reviewed and approved by the customer.
Although the S11 series is no longer included in the latest Chinese energy efficiency standard (GB 20052‑2024) due to its relatively higher losses compared to newer generations, it remains a popular choice in many overseas markets – particularly in Africa – for several practical reasons:
Reliable performance – proven track record with decades of field operation
Cost‑effectiveness – offers excellent value for money
Fast delivery – shorter design and manufacturing cycle compared to higher‑efficiency models
Moderate losses – for this unit, no‑load loss is ≤400W and load loss is ≤3520W, which are well accepted for most standard applications
